All Nexx Smart Devices work on 2.4GHz WiFi network frequency only.
Look at your available networks
Open up your WiFi menu on your phone or computer and see if there are multiple options with your WiFi's name.
See if there are multiple similar network names, for example:
"home_wifi" and "home_wifi_5G"
"home_wifi" and "home_wifi 5.0"
"home_wifi" and "home_wifi5"
"home_wifi 2G" and "home_wifi"
If there are multiple similar networks, pick the one with either 2G, 2GHz, or nothing extra in the name. That is most likely the 2.4GHz WiFi network.
For example:
If that is not the case, try the following options. We recommend you check through a computer as easiest.
There is no information on iOS regarding the network band, so we recommend you check your network through a computer. See the instructions for Apple or Windows computers.
If you don't have a computer here are some options for finding out your network band on an iOS:
Install a WiFi analyzer app from Apple Play.
Obtain the information via your router settings. For more information on this process, please consult your specific router’s manufacturer or user manual for more details.
Click on the WiFi icon in the top nav bar while holding down the Option/Alt key.
You will see detailed information in grey about your Wi-Fi. In the middle it will show which channel your Wi-Fi is using.
“Channel” will either say in the brackets 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
From Notification Panel press and hold the WiFi icon until you enter WiFi settings screen.
Select the network properties (tap the gear icon or menu icon).
Depending on the Android version check:
Read the “Frequency” setting – shows as 2.4 or 5GHz.
Read the “Network speed” setting – if speed is over 400 Mbps then you are using 5GHz network.
Connect to the WiFi network.
Open your networks panel from your taskbar (click the WiFi icon in the bottom right).
Click on “Properties” of your WiFi network.
In the new window that opens, scroll all the way down to “Properties”.
Tap and hold the Wi-Fi icon in the top-left corner. The name of your Wi-Fi access point appears below "Wi-Fi" on the left side of the panel. If you see either "2.4GHz" or "5GHz" here, you'll know that you're connected on that frequency.

All Wi-Fi routers have a 2.4 GHz band. Newer routers are often dual-band router, with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, in which case you need to ensure to enable the 2.4GHz band is enabled on your router.
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Select the connected network to see the Wi-Fi details. Note: Different Android phones might have different settings. 3. Read the frequency band setting.
5 GHz Wi-Fi speed is faster than 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi speed. It has more bandwidth compared to 802.11n and can reach up to 6 times the speed of 2.4 GHz. Since this frequency band has less interference, it also offers higher speeds when used in an area with fewer people using wi-fi or mobile data networks.
To check your frequency, click on the Wi-Fi icon in the top nav bar while holding down the Option/Alt key. This will give you a bunch of information on your Wi-Fi including the channel your Wi-Fi is using right now. If you are currently on 2.4GHz and would like to switch to 5GHz, this change must be made on the router.
This may be located under a section called "Wireless" or "Wi-Fi," or it may be in a submenu under the "Advanced" or "Settings" sections. Look for a section labeled "Wireless Mode" or "Wi-Fi Mode." From here, you can select the 2.4GHz band. Save the changes and restart your router for the changes to take effect.
Personal Hotspot uses a 5GHz connection by default. On iPhone 12 or later, you can turn on Maximize Compatibility for Personal Hotspot to use a 2.4GHz connection. Turning on Maximize Compatibility might reduce internet performance and Wi-Fi security for devices connected to the hotspot.
into the area you normally use to input a phone number and press call. You will enter Field Test mode. You should see the Freq Band Indicator or EARFCN or UARFCN number.
