You can store any data, including photos, videos, documents, and anything else on your phone. The folder is kept secure using Samsung's Knox security platform, which encrypts your data.
Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Security and privacy, and then tap More security settings. Tap Secure Folder. Tap Continue, and then allow the necessary permissions by tapping Continue again. If needed, sign into your Samsung account, and then tap OK.

Once uninstalled, all the content and data inside Secure Folder will be deleted. Media files are backed up outside Secure Folder upon uninstall if you have selected the backup option (Data backup location — My Files > Internal storage > Secure Folder).

The Secure Folder data is stored in a separate, encrypted partition on your device's internal storage. This partition is isolated from the rest of your phone's content and can only be accessed by entering the correct authentication credentials.
My Knox was replaced by Secure Folder in 2017. In 2018, Samsung partnered with Google to use its Android work profile to secure applications and data, and in 2019 deprecated the Knox Workspace container.
This means if there are any apps in secure folder that need mobile data, they will use it. This includes Google Play just checking for updates. If you don't need your secure folder apps to be constantly updated or provide notifications, and you only use it to store local files.
@Forash: Secure Folder is an embedded feature of the software, and cannot be uninstalled as a result. If you head to Settings > Apps > Secure Folder, then you can disable the app from here to prevent any background activity.
Secure Folder is preloaded on the Samsung S8 and onwards. For other devices running Android N, it can be downloaded from Google Play or Galaxy Apps. Supported models include: Galaxy S7, S7 Edge.
(Optional) Select Remove Work Profile only (The device will not be factory reset.) to remove installed Knox Manage agents and all management polices from the company-owned device. The work profile is deleted but all other data and settings are left as-is, and the device user can continue using the device.
