Peanut Butter & Jelly Baked Donut Holes Recipe (2024)

These peanut butter & jelly baked donut holes are seriously delish and super easy! The kids are sure to love them, especially paired with the jelly dipping sauce. Yum!

I don’t know about you, but no matter how hard I try, mornings can be tough trying to get three children off to school. I’m always looking for anything I can make ahead of time to make the mornings less chaotic. That is one of the many reasons I love this recipe for Peanut Butter & Jelly Baked Donut Holes and, of course, the traditional Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich!

Peanut Butter & Jelly Baked Donut Holes Recipe

Donuts:

  • 1 Box White Cake Mix
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/3 CupCoconut Oil
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Jif Peanut Butter

Jelly Dipping Sauce:

  • 2 – 3 tablespoons Powder Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Smucker’s Strawberry Jam (or favorite flavor)
  • 2 teaspoons water

Let’s make these easy peanut butter baked donut holes:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Prepare donut pan by spraying with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl combine cake mix, eggs, oil, water, and mix.
  • If needed add a little extra water, 1 tablespoon at a time. The batter should resemble cake batter, the peanut butter often thickens it up a tad, but a little water takes care of the problem.
  • Fill each donut hole on your pan to the top this will help them have a nice round top.
  • Bake for 6 to 10 minutes or until toothpick done and golden brown on top.

Jelly Dipping Sauce:

  • Combine Smucker’s Jam, water, and powdered sugar and mix completely. Give it a little taste, and if needed, add a little extra powdered sugar!

This recipe forEasy Bake Peanut Butter & Jelly Donut Holes is an impressive breakfast, snack, or even a sweet dessert for the kids. My personal favorite thing is that I can bake several batches of the donut holes, freeze them, and pull them out about 30 minutes before the kids want them. As you can imagine, it saves lots of time in the mornings before school and the kids love them almost as much as they like the traditional peanut butter & jelly sandwich.

I’m all for saving time when and where I can in the morningsbecause getting four kids ready for school can be difficult. Making breakfast and school lunches beforehandsaves me some serious time and gives me more time for the important things, like making sure my kid’s hair is brushed, lol. Did you know you can freeze not only the donut holes but a traditional peanut butter & jelly sandwich too? Oh yes, talk about saving serious time in the mornings, and your kids are still getting their beloved PB&J sandwich for lunch.

How to Freeze PB&J Sandwiches

  • Simply make several PB&Js, remove the crust, and seal the edges. I have several different fun-shaped sandwich molds that do a fabulous job sealing the edges of the PB&J, but you can also seal the ends by pushing them together. Then toss them into a freezer baggie and throw them in the freezer until you’re ready to make the kid’s school lunches!

While both the donut holes and freezing PB&J’s are cool, there is nothing that will ever compare to the traditional PB&J sandwich and the moments that come along with them. I’m not sure why, but my kids don’t let anyone make their PB&J but me. They say it’s because it tastes better when I do it. I’m not sure I’m buying that lol.

I have an awesome PB&J moment to share with you! Yesterday, my youngest daughter Mattie was outside for a large part of the day playing with a few of the neighbors. I tried to call her in for lunch, but she wanted to play. Well, that only lasted so long before she came running into the house all dramatic, telling me that she was starving, and she really needed me to stop what I was doing and please make her a PB&J. I told her to let me run to the restroom and wash my hands, and I would get her a PB&J. Well, that was NOT good enough, she tells me “Mom don’t worry about washing your hands just tell me what to do, I need to learn how to make PB&J’s with love just in case I become a mom one day. You want me to know how to make them with love, like you, right mom?”

Of course, I told her I would start teaching her how to make PB&Js with love and not to worry; she had plenty of time to learn before she had kids. I know she just didn’t want me to wash my hands because she was hungry now, but I thought it was cute and some pretty darn good thinking. Sadly for her, I’m a mom, and I’m hip to all her tricks because I remember pulling the same ones on my mom, lol. However, I did hurry to the bathroom and wash my hands so we could make an extra yummy PB&J made with EXTRA love (Smucker’s Jam & Jif Peanut Butter) for her, lol.

Mom’s PB&J Made with EXTRA Love aka EXTRA Smucker’s Jam & Jif Peanut Butter (shh)

  • First you put Jif Peanut Butter on one side of BOTH slices of the bread!
  • Next, grab your favorite flavor of Smuckers Strawberry Jam (or your child’s favorite),generously apply to one side of the bread and spread out evenly.
  • BAM, place the slice of bread with only peanut butter on top of the slice with the PB&J, cut in half and enjoy!

Those look like some kids who have worked up an appetite playing outside! I’ll never forget our little PB&J Moments! Whether it’s spending time together making a PB&J on a rainy day or after a day of play, remember to focus on the small things that matter and build memories that last a lifetime together.

These moments are precious. It’s more than the PB&J, it’s the moments we get to spend together, laughing, learning, loving and giggling at the crazy stories the kids cook up. The stories I will forever remember and hold close to my heart. Thanks, Smucker’s for helping us create another PB&J Moment, which is another memory I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.
