The Best McDonald's Breakfast Sauce Recipe

Everyone knows McDonald's sauces are to die for.

Honestly, they're half the reason I go to McDonald's, and I know this might sound crazy, but I thought their breakfast sauce was the most unique and delicious of them all - the BBQ sauce is a close second, though.

Unfortunately, McDonald's doesn't offer their breakfast sauce anymore. So, that's exactly why I decided to do some research and experiment in the kitchen and come up with as close to the real thing as possible - AKA this copycat recipe.

Well, I've got to say, this homemade version of McDonald's breakfast sauce is pretty darn close to the real thing. It's creamy, tangy, and savory, and it just has the most delicious flavor you just can't get in any other breakfast sauce out there.

Not to mention, this copycat McDonald's breakfast sauce is super versatile, too. It can be used on all different kinds of foods, but my favorite way to use it is on some of the copycat McDonald's breakfast recipes we've done on the blog - like these McGriddles, these breakfast burritos, and these egg McMuffins. It even goes great on these McDonalds snack wraps!

By the way, in addition to breakfast, it can be perfect as a dipping sauce for some fried jalapenos or fried pickles. But my favorite is to dip these homemade McDonald's chicken nuggets in it - it's the best dipping sauce for the McNuggets, trust me.

Ingredients

My favorite part about this recipe is that it requires only6 simple ingredients. And you probably have most, if not all, of these ingredients in your fridge waiting for you!

Here's everything you need tomake this awesome McDonalds breakfast sauce:

  • 1⁄2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Steak sauce
  • 1 tsp. Dried dill weed
  • Salt and ground black pepper (to taste)

These ingredients are easily accessible and easily customizable, and it will take no time to make this sauce for all your breakfast needs.

Feel free to adjust the ingredients to suit your preferences, and you can even add a dash of hot sauce if you want a spicy flavor.

My favorite way to switch up this sauce recipe is to use dijon mustard instead of yellow mustard.

By the way, if you want to give another Mcdonald's sauce recipe a try, you have to make this tartar sauce, this sweet and sour sauce, or this Szechuan sauce recipe a shot next.

Step 2: Refrigerating

Now, after the sauce is mixed, transfer it to an airtight container or glass jar.

Then, put it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before using it. You'll want to refrigerate the sauce right after making it - this will give the flavors time to develop and meld together.

So, after the 4 hours is up, you can use the Mcdonald's breakfast sauce for breakfast sandwiches or whatever you want.

Enjoy!

How To Store McDonalds Breakfast Sauce

This homemade McDonald's breakfast sauce recipe will make about 1 cup. So you should have plenty to use throughout the week. But if you think you'll use more, just double, triple, or quadruple the recipe!

The sauce is best stored in an airtight container or resealable jar in the fridge, where it will last for up to 2 weeks.

And if you ever need more, you can just whip it up in a couple of minutes. I like to make it the night before I know I'll be using it, so it's ready to go by morning. Chilling it overnight also makes McDonald's breakfast sauce taste even better.
